Hi, I am Enrique Garcia, a Software engineer with 10 years of experience accross DevOps & cloud, technical project management, data engineer, software development and data science.
I hold a MSc in Astrophysics and a BSc in Physics.
Below is a summary of my CV.
Work Experience
CERN - Geneva.
10/2022 – 09/2025
Fellow on Scientific Computing.
IT-LCG-TC (Technical Coordination) Group
- Platform Lead of the ESCAPE Virtual Research Environment (VRE):
- Led the development and operations of a cloud-based scientific
computing platform enabling end-to-end data analysis workflows for
distributed research teams.
- Designed and maintained an integrated platform architecture
connecting interactive Jupyter environments, a scientific data management
service (RUCIO framework) and a reproducible workflow infrastructure
(REANA) via an unified authentication layer (OAuth2 / INDIGO IAM).
- Implemented the platform observability and monitoring stack,
integrating Prometheus-based metrics and Grafana dashboards to track
service health, usage, and performance across the infrastructure.
- Coordinated technical activities across multiple international partner
institutions, aligning data management and analysis platforms initiatives.
- Led the integration of the VRE into the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), contributing to the foundations of a federated European research data and computing ecosystem.
- Active contributed to the Rucioopen-source project and maintained the
JupyterLab plugin used within the platform.
- Supervised three CERN Summer Student projects delivering JupyterLab
extensions for REANA and
Zenodo with OAuth2-based authentication.
Skills & Technologies used: DevOps & Cloud (Kubernetes, Helm, K9s, Flux, Docker, Singularity, GitHub actions, GitLab CI/CD, OpenStack, ArgoCD), Software development & Data Analysis (Python, Bash scripting, git, CVMFS, REST APIs), Project Management (Agile, Scrum), Scientific Data Management Frameworks (Rucio, FTS3, gfal2), Computing Platforms (Reana, JupyterHub), HPC and distributed computing (HTCondor), AunthN/Z (INDIGO IAM, OAuth2.0, OIDC), Monitoring tools (Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus), Relational Databases (Postgres, MySQL) and Web technologies (NodeJS, JavaScript).
LAPP/CNRS-IN2P3 - Annecy.
07/2019 – 09/2022

- Developer of data analysis pipelines for the CTA (Cherenkov Telescope Array) and CTA/LST collaborations. Contributor to the integration of the Real Time Analysis pipeline into the CTA/ACADA framework.
- Joint responsibility for the technical implementation of the ESCAPE (EU H2020 project) Open-Source Scientific and Service Repository (OSSR) work-package.
- Tutor in the ESCAPE 2021 and 2022 summer schools & LST 2022 LST data analysis school.
- Teaching assistantship at Annecy IUT (Université Savoie-Mont Blanc), teaching hands-on exercises (TPs) during 3 semesters for electrical engineering and industrial computing students.
- Shift operator for the LST-1 Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescope (1 month onsite and 1 year remote).
Skills & Technologies used: Software development and Data analysis (Python, Bash scripting, Docker, git, GitHub actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins) and HPC and distributed computing (Slurm).
Altran-Tesella - Madrid.
10/2018 – 06/2019
Junior Data Scientist / Consultant.
WCC Madrid.
- Provision of tailored guidance and support for digital transformation within Spanish companies.
- Implementation of classical Machine Learning (ML) models according to client needs.
